Meet CatMax.

My love of color began as a child. My mother often reminded me that as a little girl, I would sort my blocks first by color and then by shape. I also recall my pediatrician examining my small hands and noticing that my pinky fingers were crooked and bent which I learned was hereditary. She told me not to worry, it means I was artistic. I probably took that to heart.

I have always been drawn to abstract art. There is something so calming about looking into a painting and discovering the purpose of each stroke whether purposeful or freestyle. Even when I was taking art lessons, drawing, sketching, painting,…it was my preferred style of art.

In the summer of 2020 amidst the pandemic, my interest in painting reared its head. The weekends slowed down and within the solitude of being at home, I began to dabble with acrylic on canvas. A new first for me, but something I wanted to try. There was lots of support from family and friends…some of my first pieces were purchased by dear friends. Thank you. My daughter encouraged me to post on Instagram, and clients encouraged me to create a website to share my work. So 2021 is the launch of this site to share my work and continue this journey.

Throughout the pandemic, while working from home and navigating virtual schooling for 3 children, I strive to live by this mantra - “Do more of what makes you happy.” And this is how CatMaxArt began.
